Hello again! We're back today with a new slide theme to commemorate Día De Los Muertos. Hope you all enjoyed!
Here is what we discussed:
Hibbard:
Our first visit to Hibbard on September 27th with Sr. Blease was a success! Our next date for Hibbard will be on October 25th this month and November 15th and December 6th later this year. The due date for turning in the permission slip for the October meet has passed so expect the announcement for turning in permission slips to the November meet to be sent soon.
Recaudación de Fondos-Paleta Fundraiser:
Unfortunately, we will not be having our paletas sale this fall. However, we absolutely hope to have it up and running sometime in the spring. Be sure to stay tuned with updates next year.
Kiva y Camisas:
We plan on donating to an organization or person via Kiva to help them with their goals and plans revolving various topics and fields. We also would like members to vote on the next shirt design for our club among the 3 designs we have curated. The form for voting for both Kiva and the shirts will be open after the meet and will close next Friday.
Fotos en la biblioteca-Photos in the library:
We ask that members of La Sociedad help in taking down the photos on the library glass tiles next monday (October 16th) during their lunch periods. Thank you for your cooperation!
Becas y Viajes:
If you are a senior or junior, there is an opportunity for you to apply for a scholarship (for seniors) or trip to Panama (for juniors). Apply by December 5th if you are interested and reach out to Sra. Torres or Sr. Blease with additional questions/clarifications if you have any.
Ofrenda for Día De Los Muertos:
This year, we are collaborating with Latino club to create the school-wide ofrenda for Day of the Dead in the main lobby. After the announcements were made, we had members stay longer to help make papel picado to add decorations to the ofrenda. Thank you to everyone who participated in this activity! We also would like members to help on October 29th for setting up the tables and decorations so if you are willing to help, please do so.
¿Baile escolar?:
We are hoping to host a school-wide, Latino-themed dance which is tentatively planned to be scheduled on April 12th of next year. We will definitely have more to say next meeting but expect to see updates around the end of the school year as we work with admin and potentially other clubs to get this up and running.
That was a lot! Our next meeting will be on November 9th. See you then!
