Thank you to everyone who attended our final meeting, especially the Seniors!
Here's what we discussed:
Hibbard:
Our last Hibbard visit was on May 10th. Thank you to everyone who went to Hibbard and especially who those who went the most! Your commitment and effort has been recognied and together we have a meaningful impact on the lives of the schoolchildren at Hibbard through the various activiites we have done. We'll resume our scheduled Hibbard meets for the 2023-2024 school year.
Dia de los Niños:
We visited Benito Juarez Community Academy for the second time on Saturday, April 29th. Everyone had a great time and put a lot of work into ensuring the event ran as smoothly as possible. Congrats to our Presidenta Melanie Garcia for recieving a scholarship award for $1,500! Once again, thank you to all our members for making this festival the best it could be and for showing up to the occasion. We hope to also resume this annual activity for next year so see you next time around!
Despedida de los Seniors:
We said goodbye to our Class of 2023 members. We sincerely wish all the Seniors well on their journey beyond high school and gave out parting gifts to congratulate and commemorate their hardwork and efffort over their time in La Sociedad. Liderazgo:
We formally said goodbye to our former leadership and welcomed the new leadership! We wish the best of luck to the former leadership on their post-secondary path and commemoraed them for their leadership skills and overcoming obstacles during their adminstrative time. Thanks again to all our members who voted and we promise to continue to make La Sociedad an inclusive and dedicated group committed to the Spanish language and culture. We are very excited for what the next year will bring and hope to establish new traditions while preserving our previous customs. Stay tuned for updates on our paleta fundraiser which is set to be scheduled around the fall.
